Tested on myself

What I'll teach you doesn't come from a course or from videos. I do have the course — it taught me less than my first two years of trial and error. Over ten years I went down every dead end myself: supplements, miracle methods, plans off the internet. What's left is the handful of things that actually work, and that's all I teach.

Progress, not chaos

Every session you have something to beat — a rep, a kilo, a cleaner execution. The last reps are meant to hurt: a set you rack while you still have three reps left doesn't count. And when progress stalls — and one day it will — I know what to change and how. I see it in your log before you have time to get discouraged. That's the exact point where people without a coach quit, mistaking a temporary plateau for their ceiling.

A mentor, not just a plan

For my first few years I had no mentor — nobody to show me the technique, explain progression or tell me when I was doing something stupid. I've taught people professionally for years, and I know how to explain a thing so it clicks the first time. You get the plan in writing, and beyond that you send me videos of your sets and I send back an analysis with specific corrections. And I explain why, not just what — because I want you to be able to judge your own training in time.

Discipline, not motivation

There will be days you don't feel like it and weeks when the mirror shows nothing. You go anyway — because that part is temporary and quitting isn't. You'll see the first change after four weeks, a clear one after six.

Portrait of the coach

My name is Piotr Maciołek. I've been training since 2015. I was the typical nerd who was scared of people and had never touched a dumbbell — over those years I made enough mistakes for both of us, so you can start straight from what works.

A big chunk of those years went into calisthenics — training with nothing but bodyweight. So I know how to build progress with a bar and a floor, not just with a full rack of machines.

I've done a personal training course, but that isn't the argument here. The argument is that I know what year ten looks like — not just the first month of enthusiasm.

I'm also into health and naturopathy — I've been through SIBO, gut problems and a burnt-out nervous system myself. So I look at you as a whole, not just a physique: when you don't sleep and don't digest, no training plan is going to make up for it.

For the last six years I've coached League of Legends esports for a living, so teaching people and holding them to their progress is my actual job. Only the sport changed.

Questions

I've never set foot in a gym. Is this for me?

That's exactly who this is for. I was scared of walking into a gym for the first time too — that everyone is watching and I don't know what I'm doing — so I'm not going to tell you it's silly. You start with a handful of simple movements, each one with a video, and the plan tells you exactly what you're doing today, how many sets and in what order. That's enough to walk in without feeling like an intruder.

How long before I see anything?

You'll see the first change after four weeks and a clear one after six — strength goes up even sooner than that. But anyone promising you a specific number of kilos by a specific date is making it up.

Do I need a gym?

You don't — and not just for the first few weeks. You can stay at home for good. I write the plan around what you actually have: a gym, a garage with one barbell, two dumbbells and a pull-up bar, a set of bands, or nothing but your own bodyweight. A gym has the edge for some things, but I spent years on calisthenics and I know how to build progress without a single machine.

I have scoliosis and my back hurts. Can I even train?

Most likely yes, and I know what I'm talking about — I have scoliosis, kyphosis and a rounded upper back myself, and I still put in ten years of training. I build the plan around it: we pick movements you can do without pain and strengthen whatever is giving way. My trainer course had a medical specialization, so I know what not to touch. But let's be clear: I'm not a physiotherapist and I don't treat injuries. If it hurts right now, or you're in the middle of treatment, see a physio first — and then I'll gladly write the plan around what they tell you.

Do I get a meal plan?

You do. You get a week's meal plan built around your calories and protein, plus a list of swaps — so that one dinner at your parents' doesn't wreck the whole week. It isn't a three-month menu down to the gram, because that's the kind of thing people drop in week two; the point is that after a few weeks you can put a day together yourself. And if you're being treated for something where diet is part of the treatment, I'll tell you straight and send you to a doctor or a clinical dietitian.

How do we stay in touch?

Discord, WhatsApp or email — whichever suits you, and I reply within a day on weekdays. With coaching you also get the weekly video call and I go through the videos of your sets. With the plan on its own you write whenever something isn't clear, and you get one revision after two weeks.
